I WRITE to thank John Dowden for drawing attention to the overgrown footpath in Sully (page 14, June 25).
The Wales Coast path is an important source of tourism in the Vale and it is important that we maintain it to high standards.
We have 570km of footpaths and bridleways to maintain in the Vale, with new routes being constantly added. As every gardener knows, occasionally the summer creates good growing conditions and the weeds start to win a battle or two.
We’ve cleared this route now, and I would encourage anyone who has concerns about the condition of a footpath to let us know on 01446 700111 or at valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.
