IN HIS view from the Senedd, Andrew RT Davies is concerned about the uncertainty over the long term future of the Vale Council and the implications of service delivery for the taxpayer, but it was his Tory party that saddled us with 22 local authorities in the first place which has seen our council tax bills rocket due to the consequent top heavy administration and the cuts to the Welsh budget by our Tory chancellor.

I hope that Kirsty Williams, as a Lib Dem education minister, will take over from 22 directors of education so that the money saved can be spent on our schools.

While distracting us with a totally unnecessary EU referendum when we are not in the failing Eurozone, our Tory government is planning to sell off our land registry, which means not only the loss of a reliable money earner for the government, but also that all our personal housing data will be sold off to the highest bidder, along with all the other state assets already sold off in the chancellor’s short term bid to cut the deficit: what kind of sovereignty will this leave us within our smaller state? We already have many powers to control our borders but privatised border controls aren’t working any more effectively than privatised prisons, or a privatised probation service, or privatised social care, or a partially privatised health service. Where is the opposition to this fire sale of our state that leaves us powerless against the forces of global capitalism which know no borders?
