WE WOULD like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who helped make this event such a success.
We had an exhibition of botanical art paintings and drawings by the late Christine Wilson who sadly died last year after a short stay in Holme Towers.
In total we raised £2,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research, from a very successful raffle and the sale of paintings, drawings and other work by Christine.
We offer special thanks to Professor Tony Hazell who spoke about the work being done at Velindre Hospital on pancreatic research and treatment, and to Kayley Thomas of BBC Radio Wales, who read from a book which Christine had illustrated.
We also want to thank Sound Women of Penarth for entertaining guests with six songs.
Our grateful thanks to all who came and contributed.
