Brendan Cole has been announced as the latest contestant to join the 2022 line up of ITV's Dancing On Ice.

Cole is most famous for being the outspoken professional dancer on the BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing.

The Strictly pro danced on the first 15 series of the programme before being axed four years ago.

Since leaving the show, the 45-year-old returned home to New Zealand to be a judge on Dancing With The Stars.

On Strictly, Cole was partnered with many famous faces including Kellie Brook and Lisa Snowden.

Cole even won the show's first ever series with broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky in 2004.

He is not the only former Strictly professional to take to the ice either with James Jordan winning the competition back in 2019.

Jordan was the bookie's favourite to be taking over from actor John Barrowman on the judging panel after ITV sacked him this week.

Barrowman was let go following the revelations of his sexual misconduct on the sets of Doctor Who and Torchwood earlier this year

But yesterday it was confirmed that there would be another Strictly reunion this series with Arlene Phillips taking her seat on a new judging panel.

It looks like Cole will be wanting to continue the Strictly success story.

A source speaking to the Daily Mail said:"Brendan is extremely competitive. He wants to go all the way and win Dancing On Ice.

"Dancing is his profession so he already has a lifetime of experience but he's a novice when it comes to performing on an ice rink."
