OUR latest From the Archive feature focuses on the seafront in Penarth.
Each week we look at the history behind and historical photograph of the town and its people.
This Valentine’s post card shows Penarth Yacht club, Penarth Pier and The Esplanade during the second world war years of the 1940s.
This was printed with a message on the back from the prime minister of the time Winston Churchill which says “Let us strive without failing in faith or in duty”
Many thanks to Sean Jones, a member of Images of Bygone Penarth, for supplying this image.
We are always on the look out for more historical images of Penarth.
If you have an item you wish to share showing Penarth from years gone by, get in touch with us by emailing penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk with a short explanation of the history behind the photograph.
