LOCAL business centre Tec Marina are to mark International Women’s Day this week with talks from Welsh Women’s Aid and rising local start-up, Wealthify.

This Thursday, March 8, Penarth-based tech hub Tec Marina will be hosting a charity breakfast to mark International Women’s Day and have selected Welsh Women’s Aid as their chosen charity for the event.

Eleri Butler, CEO of Welsh Women’s Aid, will be visiting Tec Marina to talk at the event and share insight into the work they do to end domestic abuse and all forms of violence against women.

Co-founder of local fin-tech company Wealthify, Michelle Pearce, is also set to speak at the event and will be delivering a talk entitled ‘Why It’s a Great Time To Be A Woman’.

Ms Pearce has been featured in ‘Wales’ 35 Under 35’ – a list of young professional women in Wales with strong business potential – for the past two years.

Wealthify are based in Tec Marina and have recently received a significant investment from insurance giant, Aviva.

International Women’s Day is held on March 8 each year and celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Tec Marina’s event is currently on track to raise more than £500 for Welsh Women's Aid.
