A ROW of garages at a house within the Penarth Conservation Area could be knocked down to make way for a new extension.

A planning application seeks consent to demolish the garages at 7 Victoria Square, Penarth, and replace them with an extension to the main building.

According to documents submitted with the application, the new structure will feature an extension to the kitchen, as well as a home office with a bathroom and a gym, connected to the main house with a corridor. It also states the overall size of the building will be reduced, meaning there would be space for any cars which used the garages to park on the site.

The application was submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council in January and was validated at the start of April. It is expected to be decided under delegated powers, with a decision due to be made by Saturday, May 27.
