WITH his jab being the deciding factor, Penarth amateur boxer Jake Downs enjoyed a successful revenge mission at a show at the Abercwmboi Rugby Club.
Jake's opponent was Seb Hobbs (Kyber Colts), who had gained a majority points win when the two boys first met just two weeks earlier,
Weighing just 29kg each, the two performed like hard seasoned middleweights and, fighting their hearts out, neither was prepared to give any ground and caught each other with some good shots.
Both boxers maintained a fast pace throughout the three rounds, but Jake's quick and accurate jabs caught the eye of the judges and were instrumental in his victory.
Coach Neil Munn said: "Jake is an excellent prospect and, if he keeps training and improving as he is at the moment, he is definitely champion material."
