TWO local bowling clubs - Barry Athletic and Dinas Powis - are offering local sports enthusiasts an opportunity to see some of the world's top bowlers in action.
As part of the build up to this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the two clubs will host a 'Test match' series involving New Zealand, Ireland and two teams representing Wales. The match includes visually impaired and para bowlers.
There will be a practice day on Thursday, July 10, comprising two three-hour sessions at each club, while the timetable for the Test series is: July 11 (ladies' matches), July 12 (men's matches) and July 13 (finals, with a lunchtime finish). Play starts each day at 9am.
A club spokesman said: "This is a really exciting event for Wales as part of final Commonwealth Games preparations and we hope to see as many interested spectators as possible to boost the victory hopes of the Welsh teams in Glasgow."
