PENARTH Windsor LTC is delighted to announce the appointment of Rob Gaunt as the latest recruit to its Tennis Squad coaching team.

Joining on a full-time basis as a lead coach, Rob was previously based at Cardiff Metropolitan Tennis Centre where he combined coaching activities with his degree in sports coaching.

He becomes the sixth Windsor coach, the third to be selected for the Tennis Wales Young Coaches Programme.

Head coach Robert Wedlake welcomed Rob to the team: "The appointment of a sixth coach at Windsor represents another step forward for our club and coaching business, as record numbers grow further and our network of clubs continues to expand. Rob is a perfect match for us, a driven young coach with a passion for the game, he represents the very future of our organisation”.

The two Rob’s will be joined there by coaches Ellie Lewis, Tom Cole, Sean Jones and Alicia Goulding for the winter season. There was further good news for the team with the announcement of Alicia’s appointment as Tennis Wales Regional Participation officer.

The club congratulates Alicia and thanks her for the enormous contribution she has made towards their success, where she will remain as a much-valued team member albeit on a part-time basis.

With the team tennis season having drawn to a close, many of the club's members have been action on the tournament scene.

Five were in action on a Tennis Wales trip to St George’s Hill and Wigmore in Surrey, while others made the much shorter journey to the Penarth LTC Open.

Stand-out results include Neirin Gilani (St George’s Hill Eight and Under winner), Zac Essenhigh (Penarth 10 and Under runner-up), Addy Bradley Glinister (Wigmore 10 and Under runner-up), Jason Richards/Leighton Davies (Penarth Men's Doubles winners) and Tom Bellingham/Morgan Williams (Penarth Men's Doubles runners-up).
