LAST Friday, several high profile rugby personalities attended a fundraising Quiz Night in aid of the U16s Penarth age-group.

Organised by Huw and Karen Wiltshire and Jason and Jan Allen the "Question of Sport" night was a roaring success, raising several hundred pounds for the end of the year tour of the Penarth youngsters.

The guests included two current Wales internationals Ken Owen and Bradley Davies, Cardiff Blues head coach Danny Wilson and former Wales lock-forward Craig Quinnell.

Huw Wiltshire, a lecturer with UWIC and a former Wales conditioning coach was the compere of the contest, which fielded the west of Wales team of Owens and Quinnell versus the “City slickers” Wilson and Davies.

Ten teams entered the club contest won by Jason Allen’s select, comprising former Penarth coaches Paul Williams and Dai Morgan and their wives and former captain Gary Power.

“I wish to thank our guests for their support and everyone else who made the effort to turn up for the evening. It was an amazing event and the boys are grateful for your help”, U16s Head Coach Jason Allen said at the conclusion of the event.
