AFTER the initial golf day was cancelled on Good Friday the weather didn’t relent on Friday 25th May 2018 but some 40 plus golfers participated in the 9th year that the Cystic Fibrosis Golf Day that was held at the Glamorganshire Golf Club.

The eventual winners were Tim Raikes Roofing Company and his team included Wayne Borde, Dean Milton and Dom Hamm with a score of 118 – the format was the best 3 out of 4 stableford competition.

Runners-up with 107 points were Royston Davies Motors who included Roy Davies and the Edmunds brothers.

Third place with 106 points were Pete Goodfellow (organiser), Keith Nicholls, Steve Summers and Andy Warner.

The best endeavour award went to Andy Ferrier, Phil Harris the karaoke king Nigel Jones and finally nearest the pin on the 18th was Peter Edmunds.

The evening entertainment commenced with the past captain Keith Nicholls blasting out the first karaoke song of the night.

Following on from a great curry (thanks Simon & Zibby) a grand total of £2,460 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Better Life Appeal at Llandough Hospital.

The organiser would again just like to thank all who attended the day / night for their valuable support – with a special thanks to Ali for selling raffle tickets.

The total amount raised for the last nine years now stands at £29,285.

We are now looking forward to the 10th golf day due to be held on Good Friday 2019 again at the Glamorganshire Golf Club.
