SIX Special Olympics Wales golfers recently set off from their home club of St Andrews Major Golf Club for the Special Olympics West Midland Golf Tournament to be held in Bromsgrove Golf Club.

First to tee off were the 18 hole division 1 players with Sam Lazenbury taking the 2nd place with a round of 93 in a closely fought group.

In the Division 2: 18 hole competition James Savory (Barry) finished 1st in the division and 4th overall with a round of 111

Our next golfers were in the 9 hole competition Division 1, with another closely fought competition with 2 players on 59, on count back Matthew Prewett (Lavernock) came in second with his round of 59

9 hole Division 2, 1st with a round of 60 Gareth Lloyd (Barry), Mark Eveleigh (Barry) come in 4th with a round of 67

9 hole Division 3 seen our final golfer tee off Adrian Abbott (Llantwit Major) completing the round Adrian was 4th with a round of 79

We now return to St Andrew Major Golf Club to prepare for our next competition under the watchful eye of golf professional John Hasting, the golfers would like to take this opportunity to thank the members and staff of the St Andrews Major golf club for the warm welcome they receive at the club every week.
