OLD Penarthians are pleased to announce that a brief dedication ceremony was held at the clubhouse lounge bar to honour late club stalwart Roy Churchill.
The Churchill Lounge was named in recognition of the service provided by him for nearly half a century.
Roy served the club for over 45 years as a player, captain, secretary and president.
The ceremony was hosted by club president Tony Crimp and chairman Jon Vaughan and was attended by Roy’s wife Joyce Churchill, members of her immediate family and close friends.
A dedication plaque was unveiled by Joyce, with daughters Claire and Joanne revealing a specially commissioned glass panel over the entrance door to the lounge.
The club would like to thank StoneSign Company, Point 5 Installations and Maz Builders Ltd for the generous support of their time and expertise in the manufacture and installation of the plaque and glass panel.
