Vale of Glamorgan Football League round up
The esteemed Barry Cup took centre stage this past weekend with goals and upsets galore.
Cup holders St Athan crashed out as Division One Cogan Coronation upset the Premier Division side by coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
High-flying Premier Division Rhoose avoided a potential banana skin by inflicting a first loss of the season on runaway Division One leaders Holton Road.
It was an incredible come back by Cadoxton Barry as they fought back from 4-1 down against Premier Division Island Marine to win 6-4.
Division One Cardiff Airport dumped out Premier Division Barry Saints 5-2 as the upsets continued.
Penarth Town stuck to the form book and advanced to the quarter-finals with a 4-2 win over Sully Sports in an all Premier Division tie. Premier Division Cowbridge Town avoided an upset against a good Tynewydd side winning 5-2.
Cadoxton Imps saw off Vale Madrid also 5-2, while Cadoxton Athletic are the only Division Two side left in the cup as they dispatched Barry Vikings 2-0.
The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Saturday.
This Saturday it's back to the league after a couple of weeks off, with match of the day being Penarth a Town hosting league leaders Barry Athletic.
