DANNY Dyer made an instant impact in his first appearance in the Pirates League. After an initial hiccup against the ‘full of flu’ Paul Cox, going down 1-3, he went on to win both his other games 3-0, hitting 3x180 along the way.
Nathan Rosser also hit 180 against Danny but couldn’t match his overall scoring and finishing, with an 18 darter the pick of the legs.
Every player on the night picked up points, with 8 of the 13 matches resulting in 2-2 draws.
Neil Thomas and Russ Edwards started the trend, followed by Sparkle and Steve Turnbull.
Newcomer Grant West played his heart out in gaining a draw against last seasons runner up Matt Stanger, what a game!
Whilst another newcomer Matthew Davies drew both his fixtures with Alan Oliver and Nathan Rosser.
Current champion Mark Stevens drew with Matt then beat Mo Cox 3-1, after Mo had previously triumphed in his opening match.
Further draws between Steve and Alan, and Russ and Sparkle finished off the evenings events.
This Sunday sees another six players joining the fray after work commitments and holidays.
