Defending champion Mark Stevens with 121, 140, 100, 100, 40 in a 13 dart leg, followed by a 180 in a 16 dart leg, just pipped Alan Oliver, 3-1, in an epic encounter. He also gained a 3-0 victory over Marissa, to cement his place at the top of the table.
Newcomer Lloyd Arnold was just outdone, 3-1, in his opening match with Danny Dyer (17 darts), then beat Grant West 3-1, including a maximum, followed by 2 draws with Paul Cox (180), and the in form Anthony Adams. James Johnstone also made his first appearance of the season with solid performances, a draw with Alan followed by a 3-0 win over Paul Green including a 101 checkout.
Anthony Adams continues his push for qualification with a couple of 3-0 wins over Paul Green and the much anticipated clash with Danny.
Whilst Matt Stanger also proved too strong against Danny (16 dart, 180) winning 3-1, followed by wins over Marissa and Paul Cox, and finally a 2-2 with the improving Matt Davies, who also drew with Mo Cox in his first match-up.
Scotsman Grant West had a couple of unanswered 3-0s, over Marissa and The Sparkle, who in turn beat previously top of the table Paul Cox 3-1, in a close game.
Paul Green finally got his win, on the night, edging a close game with Mo 3-1.
Week 4 sees the return of 7 players, with catch up games to play. It’s certainly hotting up in the Pirates league.
