A YOUNG Vale Of Glamorgan bowler Joe Coles who began his indoor bowls career at Sully Indoor Bowls Stadium was part of the U 25s Welsh bowling team that won the Home Nations international tournament held recently in Aberdeen after beating Ireland, Scotland and England.
Joe began playing Bowls at the age of ten and soon showed potential leading to selection for the Welsh Junior Bowls Academy by the age of 14.
At the age of 16, Joe was selected to represent Wales in Ireland at U-18 level and now whilst
still only 19 to represent his country at this level and with the dedication shown, senior honours must be a future goal for him.
Many of the bowlers representing the Welsh U-25s alongside Joe have also progressed through the age groups as well which bodes well for the future of Welsh bowls.
