IT was Super Saturday and Sunday in the Vale league last weekend and it didn’t disappoint.

Rhys Hocking’s 35 yard screamer put Penarth Town B on their way to 4-2 Dockers Cup triumph over Vale Madrid at Jenner Park.

Hocking added his second while Lewis Slack and Owen Miller notched the other two to see Penarth lift the trophy, that dates back 98 years, for the first time.

In league action Barry Athletic sealed the Premier Division Championship for the second successive year with a 3-1 victory over Island Marine in the Island Derby. Fantastic achievement by all at the club, and with a game to spare.

The focus now turns to the promotion play offs to the SWFA Alliance league.

Elsewhere, Barry Cup finalists Cowbridge Town narrowly edged past St Athan 1-0, sending them level on points with third place Marine.

In Division One the race for promotion is hotting up as it reaches it crescendo with Cadoxton Imps coming out 2-1 victors over Tynewydd. Jamie Livingston and a Kyle Henderson winner giving Imps all three points.

The win puts Imps second on goal difference with a game in hand and two games to go.

Tynny now have to hope Imps slip up before their final league game at the end of April. Division One Champions Holton Road rediscovered their title winning form and saw off in form Cardiff Airport 1-0. With the Supporters Cup final coming up next week and the SWFA Intermediate Cup Semi final in two weeks it’s a much needed boost for the impressive outfit.

Cogan Coronation move above Airport into fourth with a 4-2 win over SP Billy, Cogan can still finish second but would require the two sides above them to lose their remaining games, Cogan coincidently play Imps in two weeks.

Only one game in Division Two as Barry Vikings fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with league leaders AFC Rhoose B. Cory James and Harry Lambert with the Vikings goals.

The result sees Vikings go second on goal difference and five points behind Rhoose with two games in hand. Vikings play Barry Athletic B in mid week and third place St Athan next weekend with it all to play for.

And finally in the ASRS Cup the second semi final saw AFC Rhoose defeat Penarth Town 3-1 to book their place in the final against Island Marine.

Another big weekend of action awaits this weekend.
