THE preparations for the new season began in earnest last Saturday when Sully Centurions hosted a decent Radyr side at Burnham Avenue and ran out winners by 4 wickets.
Sully batted first and, thanks to 63 from Rhett Jones, 97 not out from Ricki Griffett and a dogged 47 not out from Nick Jones, managed to amass 227-6 at the end of the 40 overs.
After tea (provided once again by the Seashore Grill) Centurions restricted the visitors to 211-8. Clegg(59) and Conden, who hit 48, were top scorers for the visitors. Jake Griffett (4 for 32) was the pick of the Sully bowlers, ably supported by brother Ricki, who added to his batting display with 2 for 37.
