ON a week when at least half the normal side where unavailable for various reasons Sully Bowling Club still managed to play two matches with a full compliment of players, some playing there first ever games.

On Wednesday Llantwit where the visitors in the first Munro cup game of the season.

It was as if the Villagers wanted to throw the game with three of the four rinks going six ends before bothering the score card. It was a 30-shot gap which was never closed but at least didn't get worse.

A good example of the night was the B Curtis, P Neale, K Mahoney, M Hardy rink who where 0-11 down on seven ends and came back to only lose by two 14-16.

0-16 down on seven ends the P Neathercote, R Fitzjohn, T Murphy, D Curtis, rink came back to 14-23. D Lougher, J Hubbard, H Thomas, D Edwards where 1-10 down on six and finished 10-23.with D Curtin, B Dascombe, HL Jones, J Best 4-14 down on eight managing to finish 19-26. So after a simply shocking start 57-88 was not to bad.

Saturday brought the trip down to the fun fair at Porthcawl, but there was to be no fun to be had on an over cast day. Considering we drew with this side last year, this year's result was a complete whitewash with all rinks shipping 30 plus shots. R Neathercote, R Fitzjohn, H Thomas, D Edwardes 8-31, J Bryant, J Hubbard, K Mahoney, M Hardy,12-31 A Kelly, B Dascombe, HL Jones,T Murphy,12-38 D Curtin E Pryer, A Smith, B Griffiths 16-36 48-136
