SULLY Bowling Club (the Villagers) got of to a terrible start on Wednesday against a strong Penarth side in the Munro Cup.

Only getting a point at home is not very good and gives the selectors a lot to talk about at there next meeting.

It was thanks to E Pryer, H Thomas, J Best A Thomas that the point was won13-13 ,but none of the rest where close at the end.B Curtis K Mahoney D Hotchkiss D Edwards10-24, R Fitzjohn, H Levick Jones, P Neale, D Curtis, 9-24 and D Lougher,A Kelly, A Rees, T Murphy, 13-20.

Come Saturday the corner seemed to be turned with a home friendly against Fairoak on a really beautiful afternoon.

It has to be said that after seven ends it did not look good with three rinks down and the other only one up but by fourteen ends it was two well up and managing to cover the other two.

By the end it remained the same with the two winning rinks more than covering the two losers.

It was great to see Gareth John back in harness after his health issues and contributing with R Fitzjohn, A Thomas,D Curtis 25-11 having been six down on four ends. A Smith, E Pryer, H Levick Jones, B Griffiths 37-`6 having been 3-12 down on six ends. H Thomas, B Danscombe, A Rees, T Murphy losing 19-29 but pulled eight back on the last four ends. B Curtis, A Kelly, J Best, D Edwards, were always under the cosh and lost 10-25.

This week the club play Millwood midweek and home in the first div3 CML game to Llantwit Major.
