FOLLOWING a successful end to the 2018-19 season culminating in 6 straight bonus points wins and a 6th place finish in the league Penarth's senior side are already stepping up preparations for the coming season.

With the informal touch rugby sessions now completed pre-season proper has commenced with players new and old welcome to join.

Sessions will be held at St Cyres School playing fields on Tuesdays (6.30-7.30pm) and Thursdays (6.30-8.00pm) throughout the summer.

Following the release of the new leagues and fixtures Penarth have their sights set on a successful season with a promotion challenge and good cup run seen as realistic targets for this talented and (mostly) young squad.

There is a very local feel to the league with eight teams from Cardiff and four trips up the Rhondda Valley to familiar foes in the form of Tylorstown, Penygraig and Pontyclun.

There are some new faces in the league as well with St Albans and Canton coming up from Division 3B and Llanharan coming down from Division 2.

The club AGM will be held after training on Thursday 4th July, at 8pm at the Athletic Club.
