WINNING the toss the Spartans elected to bat first and at 86 for 6 on a pitch of even bounce with the odd spiteful ball the Sully skipper thought it was probably the wrong decision to have made.

Thus enter the tailenders wagging for all its glory and in a splendid hour sanity was restored.

Qais Aziz and Patrick Dickinson put on a quickfire 52 taking the score to 138 for 7 before the later was caught for an excellent 30.

Aziz was joined by Nan Wedrashina and they pushed the score on until Aziz was caught on the boundary for a well structure match winning score of 60 and the score was at 179 for 8.

Nan pushed the Spartans past the 180 and the full batting points mark remaining unbeaten on 15 as Sully ended on 190 for 9 at the end of the allotted 40 overs.

In response Croesy never combated the line and length bowling of the Spartans attack and wickets fell at regular intervals.

Tibin Joesph with 3 for 8, Abul Hamin 2 for 16 and David Morgan with 2 for 17 were the pick of the bowlers, but youngsters Shoaib Kkhan and brother Sharoze bowled with great maturity taking a wicket a piece and played a part in the victory.
