Commonwealth Games silver medallist Kyle Langford has escaped a funding cut over an incident in which he appeared to grab a race official by the throat.
Watford-born Langford has been fined £1,000, ordered to complete one day of athletics-related community service, and issued with a final warning after an investigation by UK Athletics.
Footage emerged on social media of the 23-year-old reacting angrily to an official during a British Milers' Club meeting at Watford in June.
The 800m runner immediately apologised, tweeting: "I let myself and my support team down by reacting angrily to an official at the BMC event."
UK Athletics launched an investigation into the incident, in particular whether he had breached the strict conditions attached to being a World Class Performance (WCP) athlete.
UK Athletics said in a statement: "(His) actions - which the athlete has readily admitted - fell well below the standard expected.
"The investigation took into account the immediate apologies issued to the official concerned thereafter."
The statement went on to confirm the sanctions, adding that the "formal (and final) warning would be entered as a disciplinary sanction on Langford's record".
