AFTER last week’s slightly unexpected victory over St Fagans, the PG1 team travelled to face Llantrisant.

Although boosted by the return of three of their best bowlers, captain Eddie and his men were sure that they would face a tough struggle on a notoriously difficult green against a side which had narrowly won at Windsor earlier in the season.

Such fears proved unfounded as the Windsor men pulled out all the stops to win by 20 shots, thereby gaining 12 valuable points and moving into a middle of the league position.

Top honours this week to Matt Woodcock who, with Matthews, Gooding and Minty Turnbull (returning from his guest appearance on Eastenders) won by 27 shots to 14.

There were also wins for Morrish, Williams, Stevens and Carlisle 15-13 and for Ellard, Palfrey, Rees and McLeod 20-14. Rod Hudson with Evans, Thorne and Hope suffered a last end defeat going down by a single shot.

The side is now without a game for 2 weeks because of other club's cup commitments.

Not to be outdone, the PG2 side also secured 12 league points in their home encounter against St Fagans.

Leading the way were Johnson, Davies A, Cucciniello and Lewis with a 34-9 victory.

There were also wins for Peregrine, King, Woodcock A. and Davies D. 26-11 and for Mathias, Brenton, Hales and Latham 17-15. Just one loss to report; Ellis, Parker, Rogers and Howells who went down by 9 shots to 16.

A cruel blow indeed as they were leading 9-8 after 14 ends and thereafter failed to add to their score. For the team, a win by 86 to 51.

Completing a super week for the men, the Alliance team secured a memorable win against a strong Cardiff Sophia Gardens side by 70 shots to 57. White, Brenton, King and Williams 22-7.

Dacey, Ellis, Morris and Latham 14-16. Peregrine, Armstrong, Evans and Howells 12-19. Davies A., Rogers, Daniel and Cucciniello 22-15.
