PENARTH Petanque Club held a very successful quiz at the Ocho lounge in Penarth to boost funds towards the cost of their new piste.

Over 70 people came along to support the club and enjoy an evening of quizzing and tapas and hoping to win one of the many raffle prizes, contributed by several local businesses and individuals.

Toby Sauter, manager of the Ocho Lounge and his team, showed what community spirit and support means, by helping the club hold their quiz there and contributing greatly to its success.

Since the closure of the Kymin, where petanque started in Penarth, 33 years ago, the club have been looking for another venue.

Now they have one.

The Windsor Bowling Club in Robinswood Crescent, Penarth, offered the Petanque Club land there, to build a piste and join forces with them.

A move that will benefit both clubs and keep the game of petanque alive in Penarth.

The club would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to all who contributed and made such a huge difference to their existence.
