LLOYD Germain is looking to start 2020 with a bang by claiming two wins in the space of a month, including a first outside Wales.

The St Joseph’s ace won all three of his fights in his debut year as a professional in 2019, tasting points successes on cards in Merthyr Tydfil, Swansea and Pontypool.

Germain (3-0), 29, is pencilled in to face Wiltshire-based Northern Irishman Paul Cummings (2-45) at the Sanigar Events promotion in Bristol on February 29.

He is then set to return to Swansea on March 28 to appear on another Sanigar Events show, one that features St Joes stablemates Robbie Vernon and Josh John.

Like Cardiff’s Germain, Risca ace Jake Tinklin will also get to show off his skills in Bristol and Swansea.

“It’s important to keep busy but also important to keep winning and progressing, and that what I need to keep doing,” he said.

“Training has been going perfectly, sparring has gone really well and Tony (Borg, trainer) is making sure I’m doing exactly what I should be.

“I’m very grateful to have the likes of Lee Selby and Gavin Gwynne with me in the gym. We are pushing each other every single session.”

He added: “The opportunity to fight in Bristol came up and I wanted to grasp it with both hands.

"I'm down to fight Paul Cummings, who is an experienced fighter.

"I've seen a little bit of him online but I don't focus too much on who I'm fighting.

“I just want to kick-start my year with a win and then look forward to picking up another in Swansea.

“But I have to make sure I’m fully focused on Bristol first before I can start thinking about what happens in Swansea."
