MATT Stanger returned to action, this week, playing four matches on the bounce. And what a result. 12 straight legs with no reply against 4 different opponents including 16, 17, and 18 dart legs, 2 maximums and a 136 checkout.
This sees him return to the top of the table with a hundred percent record. Could he possibly get to the end of the season undefeated with 11 matches to play, plus the knockout?
Former table topper Dai Randall could only manage a point against the ever improving Nathan Rosser, in a game Nathan could easily have won. Paul Jenkins stays 3rd after a close contest with Paul Cox, again ending a point a piece, whilst Alan Oliver white washed Mark Stevens to move within a point of him in 4th and 5th. Craig Harris is upwardly mobile after overcoming an out of sorts Grant Coombs, whilst Mo Cox, including a timely 94 checkout, won over Steve Turnbull.
The Pairs competition is taking shape with Mark Stevens leading the way, after a 5-2 win partnering Steve Turnbull, on 22 points. Dai and Alan missed the chance to close the gap, at the top, after a spirited fight back by Steve and Mo, coming from 4-0 down to finish 4-3. The 8 points gained by Steve take him to 6th in the table with 8 games to play. Matches 13 & 14 will be played this week.
