TWO quick fire 94 out shots by Mo Cox saw him leapfrog up the table in an excellent night of darts. Grant Coombs started the latest round of matches with a 3-1 win over Paul Cox followed by a terrific tussle with Mark Stevens, who hit a 180, his 3rd of the season, and a ton finish in his only leg win in a 17 dart leg. The 4 points gained by Grant moves him within striking distance of the top 4 as we reach the business end of the season.

Paul Jenkins also remains firmly in the top 4 with a closely fought 3-1, including a timely Maximum, his 4th, against the ever-improving Paul Cox. He followed this up with another 3-1 triumph over Steve Turnbull. Dai Randall also moved within a point of top spot with a victory on the night. Alan Oliver missed the opportunity to move into the top 4 after going down 1-3 but still harbours hopes of qualifying for the finals as we approach the final furlongs.

The Pairs competition is hotting up with Paul Jenkins moving 4 points clear at the top of the table, with 2 excellent wins, in his catch-up games. Pairing up in a 6-1 win with Paul Cox over Dai Randall and Steve Turnbull, then partnering Steve in a close 4-3, after being 4-0 up, against Alan and Paul Cox. These 2 results also see The Cox climb off the foot of the table and into contention at the right end. The final match saw an out of sorts Mark Stevens and Mark Williams go down 2-5 to Mo and Grant.

With 52 singles matches and 20 pairs matches, still to play, it is all to play for in the hunt for the ultimate champion in both events.
