WITH eight weeks left, of the regular season, the race for qualification is hotting up.

Matt Stanger continues his unbelievable form, 100% after 19 matches, and confirmed his top 4 spot with 5 games to play.

His last 4 matches included a 14, 3x15, a 17 and 2x18 dart legs, with an excellent 132 out as well.

He was pushed hard in all matches with Grant Coombs particularly unlucky as said 132 was to pip him in the last leg, after he produced an excellent performance including a maximum.

Paul Jenkins and Dai Randall have all but done enough to qualify as well needing 3 and 4 points respectively from their remaining fixtures.

The 4th spot is very much up for grabs with no fewer than 5 players still able to grab the opportunity of making the champions night. Grant is in the box seat with 4 matches to play on 23 points, after his latest round of matches, including a 180 against 1 of his main rivals, Alan Oliver in a 3-0 victory.

He also bagged a 120 out against Mo Cox in another 3-1 win. Alan continues to pick up points and needs to win his 3 remaining fixtures being on 20 points at the moment.

Craig Harris also has a great shout moving in the right direction and with 5 games to play he sits on 20 points.

Mark Stevens, is still in the hunt despite a poor run of form, and is relying on other results going his way, and sits on 22 points with 3 games to play.

John Nowland his the bookies favourite, but, due to injury he may not be able to resume his quest, for the championship this year. Get well soon mate.

The Pairs in also taking shape, after 21 matches, with all players still able to qualify.

However, Paul Jenkins, Mo Cox, Mark Stevens, Alan Oliver and Grant Coombs are in the ideal positions going into the business end of the season.

A late rally, and luck of the draw is needed by a few to overhaul the guys at the top.
