YSGOL Gymraeg Bro Morganwg pupil Mason Grady has earned his first Under-20s rugby cap for Wales.

On Friday 21st of February, Mason started in the first 15 for Wales against France. They won the game 14-11.

Mason, year 13, has always been talented in rugby. He has won several caps in junior and senior Wales’ team and has represented Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg at rugby.

He is also part of the Cardiff Blues squad and plays regularly for Pontypridd RFC.At seventeen years old, this was his first time playing for the under-20s team.

The game was held in Parc Eirias under difficult weather conditions. However, that did not stand in the way for Mason and his Welsh team-mates to take the lead. His brother, Cory Allen, was also there to support him.

Hywel Price, headteacher, said: "We are very proud of Mason and his achievements. To win a cap for your country is an honour, but this also shows how talented Mason is to have been chosen for this team.

"He continues to be a polite pupil here with us at school where he is studying his A-Levels. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this star-pupil!"

Mason continues the long lineage of Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupils who have represented their country in sports.

Llongyfarchiadau Mason!
