Penarth Bowls Club had a mixed week, with a win after the midweek fixture was postponed.

The match originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 15 at home against Windsor (Penarth) was unfortunately postponed as the club was unable to field a full team.

A rescheduled date is expected later in the season.

The situation improved on Saturday, May 18 when the club secured their first victory of the season, at home against Ystrad Mynach.

To start with, the sun was shining, but the match ended up being interrupted for around 15 minutes due to heavy rain, the club triumphed under intermittent sunshine.

Originally, this game was set to be an away fixture; however, the opponents asked to switch venues, which was agreed by Penarth Bowls Club.

Not being able to field a full team again, Penarth Bowls Club played with only three members in their team while the opposition had four.

Regardless, the club won on three of the four rinks.

Following the match, Penarth Bowls Club hosted a social gathering, providing food and drinks to mark their victory.

The club members are eagerly looking forward to the rematch at Ystrad Mynach's ground on July 20.
