HUNDREDS of people turned out to watch the finals of the Welsh tennis championships in Penarth on Friday night.
The event was the climax of a week of high-level tennis which saw Wales best players of all ages compete for the Welsh title.
A Penarth Lawn Tennis Club spokesperson said: “It was a fantastic event and a showcase for some fabulous tennis.
“It was great to see so many people turn up on Friday night for the finals and enjoy social food and a drink alongside the matches.
“We had a strong attendance throughout the week with people from around Wales gathering to support friends and family. They were joined by plenty of Penarth people who were treated to some really good matches.”
The competition – which took place across Penarth and Windsor clubs – featured players from across the country with competition for under-8s right through to veterans.
