Pair of defeats for Penarth Belle Vue Bowls Club to end May

Penarth Belle Vue Bowls Club played two matches at the end of May.

On Wednesday, May 27, they travelled away to Windsor and lost by 67 shots to 56.

Belle Vue won one rink, with Dave Leigh, Steph Lowder, Andy Davies, and Jeff Wenger in the successful team.

Another rink finished in a draw, featuring Alun Wallace, Theresa Davis, Vanessa Wilby, and Barry Bagwell.

Despite the defeat, players reported a great atmosphere and excellent weather, and were pleased by their improving performance, especially among new members.

Their next fixture was at home to Beddau on Saturday, May 30.

Belle Vue lost by just three points but won one rink through Clare Lewis, Alan Rogers, Vanessa Wilby, and Jeff Wenger.

Spectators enjoyed the sunny conditions and the team’s enthusiasm on the green.
