Penarth Belle Vue Bowls Club faced a challenging week, starting with a home match against Millwood on Wednesday, June 17.
They lost 89-36, but managed to secure points by winning one rink, thanks to the efforts of Seren Vickers, Richard Brant, Jacqui Kempa, and Jeff Wenger.
Despite the defeat, the team remained positive, enjoying the dry weather and the opportunity to learn and bond together.
The weekend brought another tough encounter, this time away against league leaders Ferndale on Saturday, June 20. Penarth suffered a heavy defeat, losing 151-29, with one rink only narrowly losing by 10 points.
The team admired Ferndale's skilful play, noting how often they were knocked off the jack.
Despite the scoreline, the camaraderie and beautiful sunny setting made for an enjoyable day.
The players continue to work hard, focusing on improving their game together.
