SEVEN speeding drivers have appeared in court to answer for their crimes. The offences took place in Penarth or were committed by people from Penarth.
Rebecca White, 36, of Harlech Road, Culverhouse Cross, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 15.
It related to an offence on August 1 where she was caught doing 38mph on the 30mph A4055 Cardiff Road in Dinas Powys. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Mark Alaszewski, 47, of Earl Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on February 15.
It related to an offence on August 21 where he was caught doing 35mph on the 30mph A479 Talgarth roundabout in Powys. He was fined £66 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge.
Gareth Malcolm Lewis Baker, 29, of Greenfield Avenue, Dinas Powys, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 10.
It related to an offence on July 24 where he was caught doing 57mph on the 50mph M4 near Port Talbot. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Craig Shepherd-Crook, 29, of Grand Avenue, Ely, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 15.
It related to an offence on August 1 where he was caught doing 35mph on the 30mph A4055 Dinas Road in Dinas Powys. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Sai Mani Suraj Kondepudi, 25, of Howard Road, Leicester, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 8.
It related to an offence on June 8 where he was caught doing 39mph on the 30mph B4267 Lavernock Road in Penarth. He was fined £40 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Anthony Paul Coleman, 52, of Hayes Road, Sully, pleaded guilty to speeding at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court on February 8.
It related to an offence on July 15 where he was caught doing 57mph on the 50mph A406. He was fined £40 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Jillian Davey, 70, of Marconi Avenue, Penarth, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 10.
It related to an offence on July 15 where she was caught doing 36mph on the 30mph North Road. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
