TRANSPORT for Wales has replaced an old and damaged fence at Penarth Station.
The old fence had partially collapsed and had left the platform exposed.
There had been some confusion as to whether Network Rail or Transport for Wales were responsible for the fence, due to Penarth Station's status as a franchise station.
Transport for Wales ultimately claimed responsibility and hired contractors to replace the fence.
Trio from Pontyclun carried out the repairs and Transport for Wales say that the fence was made safe within four hours of it being reported to them.
