ANGRY residents at the Harbour View and Royal Close Estates are sending the Vale Council a sarcastic birthday greeting.
The disgruntled locals have sent the authority a 1st birthday card 12 months after they last had any information about development in the area. And the residents are reporting the council to the Ombudsman on grounds of maladministration.
The council has earmarked the site for redevelopmment and a consultation report is due.
The 'birthday' comes just days after Owain John Thomas, Plaid Cymru's AM for South Wales Central, held a surgery at the site.
Alwyn Evans, of Penarth Plaid Cymru, said: "Fourteen families spoke of the sheer lack of communication.
"Owain John Thomas is writing to the council demanding a timetable of events and the Harbour View residents are reporting the matter to the Ombudsman. Everybody is furious."
A council spokesman said: "There's nothing to report on Harbour View but work is progressing. The council is not aware of any complaint to the Ombudsman at this stage, but will obviously respond if requested."
