Young hockey fans want more games

Westbourne School played a Year 9 mixed hockey match against Llandaff Cathedral School and both schools put in an excellent performance despite the poor weather.

Westbourne took the lead in the first half with a striking goal by Spencer Williams. Westbourne continued to attack and defend well during the second half, resulting in a 1-0 win for Westbourne.

Harry Brooks, Westbourne's goalkeeper, displayed a courageous attitude throughout the match.

The team included five girls, Katie Cheung, Abigail Cole, Holly Davies, Hanna Evans and Jamie Evans and six boys, Richard Bright, Harry Brooks, Philip Horne, Dominic Jackson, Ethan McGhee and Spencer Williams.

Both schools are enthusiastic about mixed hockey and Westbourne are looking to organise mixed matches against other schools.
