DURING their recent tour of Western Australia, members of local rock ‘n’ roll band Lewis Clayton and The Cyclones were lucky to escape serious injury after they were involved in a road traffic accident near Perth, only days after arriving ‘down under’!
The Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4 which they had planned to use for the duration of the tour was written off when another vehicle ploughed into them head on, hours before their first scheduled gig at The Mustang Bar, one of Perth’s most prestigious rock ‘n’ roll venues.
However, the show had to go on, and within hours of being discharged from Joondalup hospital where they had been held overnight, the band was on stage delighting their Australian fans.
Fortunately, there were no further upsets and The Cyclones went on to fulfil the rest of their commitments, playing a number of hugely successful gigs and appearing on several radio shows where they were able to promote their forthcoming CD.
Now safely back in the UK they will be playing at Penarth Conservative Club next Saturday, March 29, at one of the regular rock ‘n’ roll dance nights. Doors open at 7.30pm and admission is £5. For more information on the band visit their website at www.thecyclones.co.uk
