IT IS question and answer time at Penarth Aviation Society’s next meeting on Friday, August 1.
This is always a popular and entertaining evening as a panel of experts answer members’ wide range of subjects on flying, from vintage aircraft to the latest developments in aeronautics.
On the panel will be Geoff Jones, journalist and photographer who has written numerous articles and more than 15 books on aeroplanes and flying (the latest due out shortly) including one about the 70 year history of Rhoose Airport. He also flies his own light aircraft.
John Evans who worked at the Gloster Aircraft Company which led the world into the jet age with the first jet in 1941 will also be on the panel.
So will Lawrence Ferris, who was apprenticed in 1962 to the Bristol Aeroplane Company as it then was (now Bristol Aerospace) home of the late lamented Concorde.
With many other experts among the PAS members, and non-experts who just like flying and aeroplanes, there will as usual be a good mixture of subjects to be discussed. Visitors are welcome to join in.
Penarth Aviation Society meets at the Penarth Conservative Club at 7.45pm for 8pm on the first Friday of each month.
