IT’S that time of year when theatres will be filled with pantomime fun and the Penarth Operatic & Dramatic Society (PODS) plan to put on a great show with ‘The Snow Queen’.

Once upon a time, there was an Evil Snow Queen who lived in a kingdom of Ice and Snow. She was determined to cover the whole world in winter, and not to let the villagers of Buxumburg stand in her way.

This traditional family pantomime, written by their very own Dame, Darren Edwards, will warm you hearts, just in time for Christmas. The Snow Queen, originally a fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, was recently made into the hugely popular Disney blockbuster “Frozen”.

Needless to say, the children of PODS have loved every second of rehearsals, and are delighted that “Do You Wanna Build A Snowman” and “Let It Go” are featured in the show.

Shows will run from Thursday, December 4 until Sunday, December 7 with a very special visit from Santa and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

The show will be at The Paget Rooms, Penarth with showings at 7.30pm on Thursday and Friday and a 2.30pm showing on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets cost £7 for children, £8 for concessions and £9 for adults and are available in person from Tenovus, Windsor Road, via email at ticketsecretary@pods-penarth.org, phone 02920 712260 or online at www.pods-penarth.org.

Both matinees are almost sold out with just a limited amount of single seats available.
