BJ'S Burger Joint and Juice Bar on Glebe Street, Penarth has announced their first juicing class with Suzy Mae Gibbon owner of Inner Bliss Nutrition.

The class will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 6.30-8.30pm.

Suzy moved from California to Wales after working for a number of years in the Hollywood film industry, working on films such as Pulp Fiction and experienced first hand the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle. She said: "I worked on film sets for 16-20 hours a day, for months on end, and no one can remain healthy like that."

Eventually it resulted in bad digestion, inflammation and Restless Leg Syndrome, a neurological disease much like Parkinson's: "I went to a number of doctors who put me on all kinds of medication, but my health got worse. It was then that I decided that I didn’t want to 'manage' my symptoms or learn to live with them, I wanted to cure them.”

It was then that Suzy stumbled across a DVD on juicing that had a profound effect on her life: "After juicing for just one week, I lost more than half a stone and cut my medication in half. I had way more energy, yet I felt much calmer. I slept better, my brain fog lifted, it was incredible. Obviously I was convinced!"

She eventually moved to Wales and created the Juice In The RAW Juice Bar in Cardiff and has recently created a new company, "Inner Bliss Nutrition", which is working in conjunction with BJ's to provide a series of juicing and nutritional classes.

"People think eating better means eating things they won't like, but it's exactly the opposite. They find an entirely new way of eating that not only makes them feel better, but is absolutely delicious!" said Suzy.

Tickets cost £29 per person and includes a full meal provided by BJ's. Tickets can be reserved in advance by visiting BJ's Burger Joint and Juice Bar or calling them on 02920 707077.
