MUSIC at Lunchtime at All Saints Church continues today (July 9) and Friday.

Following a very successful first half to the week John Lewis and Nick Treharne bring along their song-writing, vocal and guitar-playing talents for what promises to be a real musical treat.

In America they called it “soul”, in Wales its called “hwyl” - singing with heart felt emotion, commitment and passion.

Penarth’s very own Retro-esque Indie musician John Lewis has it in spades. Nick Treharne’s CD, ‘Somewhere People’, has drawn plaudits from music lovers far beyond the principality, and features work that showcases his remarkable versatility, melodious songwriting and lyric writing talent.

On Friday Nigel Lloyd-Latham (piano and voice) performs a pot-pourri of songs including The Rose, some from the shows – Love changes everything and also some of his own compositions. Nigel is heavily involved with music at All Saints, he brings his friends along to add to the pot. Copies of Nigel’s CD Life is a Beautiful Thing will be on sale after the concert.

The lunchtime recitals at All Saints Church are held between 1-2pm and admission is free although donations will be gratefully received. Teas and coffees will be served and visitors are welcome to bring along their lunch – traditional seating downstairs and cafe area on the Gallery.

On Sunday, July 12, at 3pm, again at All Saints Church there will be an organ recital featuring the All Saints Church organist and choirmaster, James Bull. Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
