CERDDORFA Dinas Powys Orchestra will perform their winter concert on Sunday, December 4 at the Parish Hall, Britway Road, Dinas Powys.
For this concert they will feature Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni and his Concerto in G Major for Flute and Orchestra and Beethoven's Symphony No.2 in D Major.
Performing along with the choir will be flute soloist Andy Martin.
Andy is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. In the past two years he has received various accolades for his playing in addition to reaching the final round of the college's annual Concerto Prize.
The RWCMD has also provided the opportunity for him to develop his entrepreneurial skills through the REPCO scheme. He finds it particularly interesting to find and perform lesser known works alongside the more popular repertoire, recently exploring the world of contemporary music, and enjoys seeing an audiences reaction to a piece for the first time. Following college studies Andy aspires to develop a full-time career in performance in a professional orchestra whilst taking up as many solo and chamber performance opportunities as he can.
Tickets to the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £8 or £3 for children 12 and under. The ticket cost includes a mince pie and glass of wine or soft drink.
Tickets will be available at the door on the night or get them in advance from Griffin Books on Windsor Road or the clerk at Dinas Powys Parish Hall. Alternatively call 029 2070 6288 or visit cdpo.org.uk
