The 14-year-old girl - described as white, 5'7" tall, of average build with long black hair, and last wearing a pink and white dress - was seen struggling in the water near Friars Point around 2.30pm.
Barry Dock Lifeboat, lifeguards from Cold Knap and Whitmore Bay, a police helicopter and a coastguard helicopter from Portland, Rescue 106, have also been involved in searching.
Last night the crews searched from Cold Knap all along the coast to Sully.
The search was due to re-start again today (Monday July 8) after 12pm.
