A COGAN church has recently unveiled a new stained glass window inspired by the local community.

Members of Hebron Church in Cogan recently put their creative heads to work and designed a new stained glass window for the gothic arched front of the building.

Nathan Scott-Cook, who is on the leadership team at Hebron, said: “We wanted to design a window that is colourful and contemporary, reflecting the life of the community. To that end it needed to include a football goal, as well as the primary school and the Church building, weaved in among terraced streets.

“The Cowslip allotments and a lush green tree line can also be seen.”

He added that feedback had been overwhelmingly positive since the new church stained glass window was installed in the run up to Christmas.

“It’s been really encouraging to receive many positive comments about the new window, which is lit up morning and evening,” he said.

“We are grateful to Windowflaire of Penarth who installed all the windows, which are helping keep the 1904 building warm this winter. The church meets every Sunday morning at 11am for an All Age Service and there is a Candlelight Carol Service on Sunday, December 22, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. All are welcome!”
