AT the February meeting of The Inner Wheel Club of Penarth, members were delighted to welcome the district chairman of No 15 Inner Wheel District, Karen Davies.
After she had addressed the club she presented Molly Evans with a badge to mark her 50 years of service to Inner Wheel. Mrs Evans has held many offices at the club, including that of president, twice. She was also the founder president of the Inner Wheel Club in Kingston, Jamaica, which is still a thriving club today with a large membership.
A very successful military whist drive was held on February 27, at St Augustine's Church Hall, when over £500 was raised for the benefit of local charities. Members now look forward to a charity quiz to be held at Windsor Bowls Club, Robinswood Crescent, on March 28. The cost of £10 will include supper and the proceeds will be divided between Water Aid and Hope and homes for Children, two very worthy charities deserving support.
