PENARTH RNLI lifeboat crew and Penarth Coastguards are currently taking part in a major training exercise over Cardiff Bay.
The volunteer crews are working with several other rescue agencies in a training exercise that has led Cardiff Bay Barrage to close.
The joint training exercise also involves Barry Coastguard, Chepstow Coastguard, South Wales Police, South Wales Fire Service , the Hazardous Area Response Team, and the RAF Rescue Helicopter.
The aim of the training exercise is for emergency services to work together to provide better service to the local community.
Briefing for the training exercise began around 10am this morning and is expected to last into later on today, April 2.
